PEACEFUL PROTEST IN WASH DC

PEACEFUL PROTEST IN WASH DC

This picture above was taken about 3 years ago, some time after I had began my work. What's important to observe are American citizens involved in a peaceful protest. Marching in Washington, DC trying to do the right thing & address the inequalities in our country. They weren’t storming our nation’s capital building as insurrectionists, trying to impede the political process of the installation of our new president. What this demonstrates is before everything, people, groups, & communities need to feel & be empowered. They need to know their lives have meaning. They need to love themselves, feel whole, & engaged with life & who they are. They need to know they are a part of something much greater them themselves, that will love, care, & nurture them, & in which they can find refuge. And to which they have a reciprocal obligation to return that love & care appropriated to them, & to be responsible to also.
